Microsoft Access databases offer the capability to build great data analysis facilities or a fully featured application for your organisation. This suite of courses takes you through the essentials of database design, building the various components of a database application and learning how to confidently manage your data.
Consider this an Access foundation course. Delegates learn how to use the four main components of an Access Database: tables, queries, forms and reports. The idea of database design is introduced. This course provides an understanding of Access and a great place to start work and develop skills further.
In this course, we focus on the relational aspects of the database, looking at how to design a relational database and how to design and work with related tables. Queries are taken a step further as we look at update, insert and delete queries and how to join the multiple tables together in one query.
This is the course that introduces programmability into Access. We intro Access Macros and the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), programming language, both of which can be used to make a database application work as you need it to.
Note: We also supply an Access VBA course which goes into more detail regarding programming Access using Visual Basic for Applications. There are details just below this course.
VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) is a powerful programming language and one of the best places to employ it is within Microsoft Access. This course enables the delegate to program in this language by taking the theory behind VBA and turning it into something practical.
